What is ESR Test?
The ESR (Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate) test is a simple blood test used to measure how quickly red blood cells settle at the bottom of a test tube.
If RBCs settle at bottom at a faster rate than normal rate then it may indicate inflammation in the body. For example, a high ESR level, such as 40 mm/hr, can suggest conditions like infections, autoimmune diseases (like rheumatoid arthritis or lupus).
